Taste of Kakadu at the Murdudjurl Community

Hosted by the Murumburr family group, visitors will be able to experience and taste a range of seasonal bush tucker in the beautiful surrounds of the Murdudjurl Patonga Homestead Community at the edge of the Jim Jim Creek system, Kakadu National Park.
The region has seven unique habitats, dozens of bird species and an abundance of different foods.
The family, led by Jessie Alderson and Mandy Muir, enjoy sharing local Bininj knowledge of seasonal foods and you will get a taste of life for the Murumburr Clan as well as an insight into the history, culture and rich bush food heritage of this remarkable place.

ground oven cooking demonstration - Men’s and Women’s cultural activities including
Pandanus weaving, traditional painting, didgeridoo playing - Damper and billy-tea.
Price: $150 per adult / child (5-16) $75 (children under 5 free).
Location: 9am-12pm. Meet at the Patonga Homestead car parking (follow our signs from the Kakadu Highway, less than a 15 minute drive from Cooinda Lodge)
